Be proud to wear your wedding ring every day, knowing that it has been crafted from carefully selected recycled and Fairtrade sources to support a more sustainable jewellery industry. There are lots of different profiles of wedding rings to consider as well as finishes and the option to have hand engraving with your own personal message, traditionally engraved on the inside of the band.

A wedding ring is a sacred object that symbolises your love and commitment to one another. According to a tradition believed to have been derived from the Romans, the wedding ring is worn on the left hand ring finger because there was thought to be a vein in the finger, referred to as the ‘Vena Amoris’ or the ‘Vein of Love’ said to be directly connected to the heart.

We craft our wedding bands from a continuous piece of metal, meaning there is no join or possible weak point, for both strength and sentimental purposes. If you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for in our collection, we’d be delighted to create a bespoke ethical wedding ring to your specifications and budget. Simply book an appointment at our boutique showroom, based in the heart of beautiful Cornwall and we can help make your custom wedding ring. Please contact us if you have something unique in mind.
Choosing Precious Metals for your Wedding Ring
When you are choosing a wedding ring, the metal you opt for is one of the most important decisions, since some metals will look better against your skin tone than others will.

Also, you need to consider what other jewellery you wear close by – if you have a gold engagement ring, then you would want to choose a gold wedding ring to wear alongside it. A soft metal like gold will be gradually worn away by a harder metal like platinum. This is also true for the karate of the gold; if you have an 18k gold engagement ring, you will want to choose an 18k gold wedding ring to wear alongside it.

Furthermore, for those who are contemplating the differences between white gold and platinum, the two precious metals are virtually indistinguishable.  White gold and platinum are optically identical, and they only differ in terms of their durability and density.
Platinum is denser than 18k white gold, so the same wedding ring would feel heavier when set in platinum than if it were set in gold. Also, platinum does not wear down over time, and will weigh approximately the same in many years to come, as the day it was purchased.  Gold on the other hand is softer and wears down over time, so will be lighter in future years.
From our own experience, we would advise that if you are considering 18k white gold, platinum would be a better choice for your wedding ring, as it negates the need for rhodium plating, a process which is harmful to the environment and incurs more costs in the future.
