Louisa and Matt’s love story started online, after Matt reached out and introduced himself via a message. The message must have done the trick, because after a few weeks of talking online they knew they needed to meet in person. Louisa decided that she would make the journey down to London so that they could spend the day together. With a mutual love of Disney, they spent the day watching the stage production of Pinocchio, the perfect first date! In the early summer of 2018, Louisa and Matt became an official couple. To commemorate this, they took their first trip together to one of the most romantic places on Earth, the beautiful city of Venice. Once they returned home, things got more serious and Matt eventually managed to move his job and life up country to the North West so that the pair could move in together. It was when they finally got their own place that Matt knew he wanted to marry Louisa, and that he was going to propose. Despite being in lockdown and all travel plans ruined, Matt knew there was only one place he wanted to propose, Venice! Being so happy and in love, they had of course talked and joked about getting married and their married life together. Like most girls, Louisa had also dropped many hints and jokes about what kind of ring she would like, but Matt knew she wouldn’t be expecting it, especially in Venice! Sneakily, Matt managed to ask Louisa her thoughts on lab-grown diamonds and her reaction made it very clear that this was the way to go for her engagement ring. After some trailing around the internet and some searches on google, Matt found us! I can certainly say I didn’t find anything else during my searches that came close to Ethica.” Matt chose the gorgeous Olivia ring, a classic solitaire featuring an art deco style classic emerald stone. After some deliberation, Matt chose our Ethica Diamond, a lab-grown stone that is similar in structure, durability and beauty to a diamond, without the environmental toll. With the huge weight of the secret and the pressure of the perfect proposal literally burning a hole in his pocket, Matt decided to do it on the first day of their holiday. Thankfully their hotel room featured a beautiful terrace, the perfect spot for Matt to get down on one knee. So on the early evening of their first night in Venice a very shocked Louisa said yes without any hesitation! On their own personal terrace, they shared this magical moment for just the two of them. Then after some very excited phone calls to parents, they continued the magic down to a lovely restaurant next to the canal. It was perfect.
