Can you imagine a ring that feels like it carries the very essence of a place special to you? We can actually achieve this through texture, like in these stunning sand-cast gold bands for example. We've taken the rustic beauty of Cornwall's beaches and imprinted it right onto the gold, using actual sand from a beach in Cornwall! The result is a finish that's wonderfully rugged, raw, and full of character. It's a truly organic look that tells a story even before you've added your centre stone. If you're drawn to nature and a less polished aesthetic, this could be the perfect touch for your ring.
2. Dive into a World of Colour
While white diamonds are absolutely timeless, the world of coloured lab diamonds opens up such a vibrant spectrum of possibilities! For generations, coloured mined diamonds were exclusive to the ultra-wealthy, gracing the fingers of celebrities and royalty. But thanks to the advancements in lab-grown technology, these mesmerising gems are now a more realistic option for those of us with more humble incomes!
We've seen a large surge in popularity for rings featuring coloured diamonds, and it's something we are DEFINITELY on board with! The variety of colours and hues is vast, which means there is something for everyone.
We've crafted some absolutely stunning rings with beautiful blues, from icy pale shades to deep, oceanic tones.
Our green diamonds so far have ranged from earthy khaki's to the lush greens of a fern or forest undergrowth.
And for those who love warmth, we created a bespoke ring with a gorgeous pink diamond recently, with an orange hue which looked like a sunset.
3. Weave Your Personal Story into the Design
This is where the magic truly happens: incorporating something deeply personal into the design of your ring. There is something infinitely rewarding about working with couples to turn their unique journey or ideas into a wearable heirloom. It's a process that doesn't lose its novelty for us, since every person and story is different, and we love connecting with our customers to bring their visions to life.
One customer we had recently wanted to create a meaningful and symbolic engagement ring. He chose to incorporate a subtle, almost imperceptible knot or twist near the setting—something that represents their joining together as a couple. As both he and his partner are avid swimmers he also wanted to introduce elements of water and the ocean too. To weave in those aquatic elements, our jewellery designer and goldsmith, Laura, created a carved, rippled texture on the gallery rail, reminiscent of flowing water.
We also tucked a hidden blue diamond just under the setting, like a secret ocean treasure. The final ring was a stunning blend of classic elegance and deeply personal touches – a true reflection of their unique relationship.
In another instance, a customer wanted to honour his partner's Celtic Irish roots. He wanted to somehow incorporate the Celtic Triquetra motif in the ring whilst having a showstopping central teal blue lab diamond.
We collaborated with him to create a completely unique, bespoke engraving pattern featuring intricate Celtic knots with accent diamonds forming two Triquetra shapes on either side of the central stone. Both he and his partner were absolutely thrilled with how beautifully their heritage was woven into the design.
