Selfie of Jordan and Samantha, the subject of the blog post. Designing your very own bespoke ring can be a daunting task, but it shouldn't be! We've put together a collection of customer stories for you to read through to show that you don't have to be a jewellery designer to make your dream ring and that it really can be an enjoyable process! Here's Jordon and Samantha's story.
HOW DID YOU BOTH MEET?
Our love story began when we met on the dating site Bumble. We met up for the first time with our dogs at Temple Newsam (Leeds area) and immediately hit it off. The same can’t be said for the dogs! Fortunately, they were Jordon’s parent's dogs that he had borrowed for the walk so that solved that problem.
DID YOU COME TO ETHICA WITH A CLEAR IDEA OF THE STYLE YOU WANTED FOR YOUR BESPOKE RING?
We were pretty clear from the start with the style we wanted. I had been inspired by another design I had seen on Pinterest and knew I wanted it recreated in a specific colour. The colour of the stone was the most important aspect for me, it had to be unique. The team at Ethica helped me turn the specific colour I had in mind into reality, as well as guiding us with regards to making the ring as practical as possible. A few changes had to be made but my ring is pretty close to the original!
WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE ETHICA DIAMONDS?
We like to support local businesses in the UK as much as possible so when we came across Ethica Diamonds we were really happy. We really liked the ethos of the brand and its sustainable mission. Bespoke Design Process - Variety of sketches and then the CAD of the chosen design.
WAS THE PROCESS ENJOYABLE?
Designing my bespoke ring was a really enjoyable process and I think if everyone is lucky enough to get to choose and design their ring then they should. It can be worrying that you may not like the final design however the team helped in reassuring us as we went through the process. We were able to see sketches and CADS along the way which really helped ease any apprehension on our part.
WHAT WAS THE PROPOSAL LIKE? WAS IT PLANNED OR WAS IT A SURPRISE?
Jordon and I aren’t the best at keeping secrets from one another, so I knew Jordon was proposing however he kept the ‘when’ and ‘where’ a surprise. We went to the viewpoint at Otley Chevin and it was a magical moment. I was more emotional than I was expecting but it was pretty perfect! Our wedding is booked for July 2022 at Sefton Park, Palm House. It’s an avant garden with a victorian greenhouse. It truly is beautiful and we can’t wait! Palm House, Sefton Park Photo Source: https://bridesupnorth.com We’d just like to say a big thank you to everyone for helping us design our perfect ring. We know we weren’t the easiest of customers but we do truly appreciate how beautiful the design is. I have had so many complements on how gorgeous and unique the ring is! Here at Ethica, we are so excited to announce that we have launched a brand new website dedicated to our bespoke service that you can find here.
